Where has the honor gone in the NHL?

Peter Bondra, a fan favorite of every Caps fan and the Caps offense for most of the 90's, retired uneventfully from a stellar career.

The Caps should have done the classy thing and signed him for one last season. This would have allowed him to retire from a city that loved him for providing excitement and goals that allowed the Caps to make the playoffs for most of his years in a Caps uniform.

Washington should have celebrated the career of a Capitals great. Bondra deserved better.
