Gordie Howe still a hero

A little over a month ago, my Dad was having what he thought was a rough birthday. Not only did he have a bad cold, but he also had to leave on his birthday to go on a business trip. To top it all off, after he got to the airport he discovered that his flight had been delayed three hours.

It wasn't going well for him and it was a birthday to forget for sure.

He and my mother decided to fill time by going out for dinner before the flight. Once seated, they looked over and noticed Gordie Howe a couple of seats away.

Once both tables finished dinner, my Dad walked over, asked Gordie for an autograph and to have thier picture taken together. After visiting for half an hour and taking a few pictures together, my Dad called me to tell me the whole story. In his words he "felt like a 12-year-old," nervous and excited to meet his legendary hero.

I would just like to thank Gordie Howe, you very much made my Dad's birthday one that he will never forget.
