Greg Scott's shootout goal leads Marlies to 4-3 win over Americans

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Greg Scott scored the lone shootout goal as the Toronto Marlies beat the Rochester Americans 4-3 in American Hockey League action Sunday.

Ryan Hamilton, Kyle Calder and Andre Deveaux scored in regulation for Toronto (31-32-11).

Chris Taylor, Andrew Sweetland and Jeff Taffe replied for Rochester (40-31-3).

James Reimer made 24 saves in regulation and overtime for Toronto, and five in the shootout.

Tyler Plante made 40 saves and stopped three of Toronto's four shootout attempts.

Taylor opened the scoring with a short-handed goal, then Sweetland's goal gave the Americans a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Hamilton scored in the second period to cut Rochester's lead to 2-1, but Taffe's power-play goal restored the Americans' two-goal lead.

Calder's goal late in the second cut Rochester's lead to 3-2, then Deveaux's goal in the third set up Scott's shootout heroics.
