    CLEVELAND - Curtis Sanford and Cedrick Desjardins backstopped the Hamilton Bulldogs to a 4-0 win over the Lake Erie Monsters in American Hockey League action Friday.

    Sanford started the game for Hamilton (12-6-4) and made 16 saves through two periods before being replaced by Desjardins for the third.

    Sanford's status was not immediately known. Desjardins wound up with eight saves.

    Mathieu Carle, with a goal and an assist, Ben Maxwell, Frederic St. Denis and Mike Glumac scored for the Bulldogs.

    Tyler Weiman stopped 24 shots in defeat for Lake Erie (7-12-2).
