Like many teams, the Flames have their own post-game congratulatory badge of honor. The Washington Capitals have the Abe Lincoln hat and beard, the Chicago Blackhawks have a championship belt, and Calgary? Well, they’ve got a fire helmet.

After last night’s win, yet another come-from-behind overtime thriller for the Flames, Calgary didn’t hand the honor out to a player. Rather, they gave the lid to their bench boss, Bob Hartley, who picked up his 400th career coaching victory with the win.

The 54-year-old Hartley has coached thirteen seaons in the NHL, including stints with Colorado, where he led the Avalanche to the Stanley Cup in 2000-01, and the Atlanta Thrashers.

In 807 games behind the bench, his record now stands at 400 wins, 299 losses, 61 ties, and 47 overtime or shootout defeats.

If the Calgary Flames can keep this incredible play going, Hartley could be staring down win 425 by the end of the season.
