Haydar scores twice in first three minutes as Lake Erie beats Marlies 4-2

CLEVELAND - Darren Haydar scored twice in the opening three minutes and added an assist to lead the Lake Erie Monsters to a 4-2 win over the Toronto Marlies in American Hockey League action Saturday night.

Haydar opened the scoring 92 seconds into the game and found the net on a power play 1:34 later to give the Monsters (11-17-3) an early 2-0 lead. T.J. Hensick assisted on both Haydar goals and finished with three assists.

Josh Engel and Andre Deveaux replied for Toronto (13-12-5) to tie the score at 2-2 before Brian Fahey put Lake Erie back on top.

Tom Preissing also scored for the Monsters.

Lake Erie netminder Tyler Weiman made 29 saves, while Adam Munro stopped 23 shots for the Marlies.
