Hejduk's goal lifts Avalanche to 2-1 overtime victory over Blues

DENVER - Milan Hejduk scored 48 seconds into overtime to lift the Colorado Avalanche to a 2-1 victory over the St. Louis Blues in an NHL pre-season game Sunday night.

T. J. Galiardi added a his first goal of the pre-season. Darcy Tucker, Chris Durno and Kyle Quincey had assists for Colorado.

Peter Budaj, Colorado's starting goalie for much of the 2008-09 season, had 24 saves.

Erik Johnson scored for the Blues on assists from T.J. Oshie and Patrick Berglund. Ty Conklin stopped 33 shots, including an early bid by Hejduk on a breakaway.

Colorado didn't score on three power plays. The Blues, who were without Keith Tkachuk, Paul Kariya, David Backes and Brad Boyes, were 1-for-6.
