Hockey Canada closes down French shopping website because of errors

CALGARY - Hockey Canada has suspended its French-language shopping website after being made aware of several translation errors.

The site (boutique.hockeyCanada.ca) has been online since October 2009 and was created by Vancouver-based Elastic Path Services Ltd. There is no word on when it will be up and running again.

"We regret these errors are on Hockey Canada's new online shopping website and have instructed our provider Elastic Path Services Ltd. to address these concerns immediately," Hockey Canada chief financial officer Paul Delparte said in a statement. "The operation of the entire shopping website portion has been suspended until we are satisfied with the quality of the French content."

Many of the errors were in names of the items being sold.
