Andrew Brown, The Hero Calgary Needs

One man's departure set in motion another man's ability to create amazing content.

This summer and spring have been challenging for the Flames, but for CBC Calgary news anchor Andrew Brown, the Flames have led to him going viral. He first became a social media darling for his infamous clip after the Edmonton Oilers knocked off the Calgary Flames during the Battle of Alberta:

Fast forward to the first day of free agency, and Johnny Gaudreau's departure from the Flames gave us yet another fantastic signoff from Brown this past week:

The joke didn't stop there, as Brown would appear on Fox 28 Columbus. He let it be known he'd be a cheap hire for a potential new employer.

To be safe, CBC Calgary may want to double-check their contract with Brown to make sure he's not a UFA anytime soon.

Juraj Slafkovsky, Equipment Destroyer

Montreal's newest star prospect is already making an impact.

During the Canadiens' development camp last week, Slafkovsky managed to damage part of the team's Wingate bike. The Wingate is typically viewed as one of the most important, but most disliked aspects of the NHL draft combine, but Slafkovsky didn't take part in the physical portion of that event.

So, here he is. And boy, did he deliver.

The Amazing Race: Staples Edition

If you're younger, you likely don't own a printer. That's the case for Jeremy Davies. for 25-year-old Jeremy Davies, who signed a new contract with the Buffalo Sabres last week.

Both he and his girlfriend Erin don't own a printer, so they had to race to a local Staples for him to sign it and send it back to Buffalo, like so many college students have to do to submit papers on time.

For our pleasure, the situation was documented on Erin's TikTok account:

Hey, who knows how common this is? Maybe this is a television content filler idea for the dog days of summer.
