CALGARY FLAMES-Signed G Curtis Joseph to a one-year contract. Assigned G Curtis McElhinney to Quad City (AHL).

CAROLINA HURRICANES-Traded RW Craig Adams to Chicago for future considerations. Activated C Matt Cullen, RW Scott Walker and D Bret Hedican from the injured list.

CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS-Signed C Patrick Sharp to a four-year contract extension.

EDMONTON OILERS-Activated D Matt Greene from injured reserve and assigned him to Springfield (AHL). American Hockey League

AHL-Suspended Manitoba D Zack Fitzgerald for two games for his actions during a game on Jan. 12.

GRAND RAPIDS GRIFFINS-Signed D Tom Galvin to a two-year contract. Announced D Derek Meech was recalled by Detroit (NHL).

SYRACUSE CRUNCH-Signed D Brett Motherwill.
