NHL-Suspended Anaheim D James Wisniewski for eight games for delivering a hit to the head area of Chicago D Brent Seabrook in a March 17 game.

CAROLINA HURRICANES-Signed C-RW Zac Dalpe to a three-year contract and assigned him to Albany (AHL).

MONTREAL CANADIENS-Signed F hunter Bishop to a two-year contract and assigned him to Hamilton (AHL).

American Hockey League

AHL-Suspended Norfolk LW Mitch Fritz for two games as a result of his actions in a March 17 game at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

PROVIDENCE BRUINS-Announced F Trent Whitfield and D Jeff Penner have been recalled by Boston (NHL). SYRACUSE CRUNCH-Assigned G Dan Taylor to Gwinnett (ECHL).

TORONTO MARLIES-Reassigned F Alex Berry to Reading (ECHL).


KALAMAZOO WINGS-Released D Billy Bezeau.

READING ROYALS-Released F Kyle Laughlin. Announced D Joey Ryan was recalled by Toronto (AHL).
