NHL-Suspended F Scott Nichol five games for an incident involving Montreal D Patrice Brisebois in a Dec. 1 game. Suspended Philadelphia F Riley Cote three games for being assessed a match penalty for attempt to injure during a Dec. 1 game against Dallas.

ATLANTA THRASHERS-Reassigned D Scott Lehman from Gwinnett (ECHL) to Chicago (AHL).

CALGARY FLAMES-Recalled D Adam Pardy from Quad City (AHL).

COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS-Recalled LW Joakim Lindstrom from Syracuse (AHL). Assigned G Tomas Popperle to Syracuse.

DALLAS STARS-Activated D Mattias Norstrom from injured reserve. Placed RW Jere Lehtinen on injured reserve, retroactive to Nov. 21.

MONTREAL CANADIENS-Recalled G Jaroslav Halak from Hamilton (AHL).

HAMILTON BULLDOGS-Recalled G Cedrick Desjardins from Cincinnati (ECHL).

NORFOLK ADMIRALS-Recalled LW Radek Smolenak from Mississippi (ECHL).

Quebec Major Junior Hockey League

QMJHL-Suspended Baie-Comeau D Maxime Ouimet one game for hitting a player in the head during a Nov. 30 game against Chicoutimi.

Western Hockey League

PORTLAND WINTER HAWKS-Named Matt Bardsley as director of player personnel.


CHARLOTTE CHECKERS-Announced Hartford (AHL) assigned D Ryan Constant and F Mark Lee to the team and the New York Rangers assigned G Matt Zaba. Released G Len DiCostanzo.

ELMIRA JACKALS-Acquired D Bryan Rodney from Fresno for future considerations. Returned G Joel Martin from loan to Syracuse (AHL).
