Hurricanes claim Nodl on waivers from Flyers, send Sutter to minors

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Carolina Hurricanes claimed right wing Andreas Nodl on waivers from Philadelphia and re-assigned forward Brett Sutter to their AHL affiliate in Charlotte.

The team announced the moves Tuesday before its game against Florida in the coaching debut for Kirk Muller.

The 24-year-old Nodl had one assist in 12 games with the Flyers this season while averaging roughly 10 minutes of ice time. General manager Jim Rutherford says Nodl provides depth among the team's 12 forwards.

The 24-year-old Sutter has three assists in eight games with Carolina and skated in all four games during his stint with the NHL club.
