Hurricanes forward Eric Cole in lineup for Game 2 against Pens

PITTSBURGH - Hurricanes forward Erik Cole is in the Carolina lineup for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals against Pittsburgh, but forward Tuomo Ruutu is sitting out due to a right ankle injury.

Cole skated in the morning and played in the game Thursday night. On Wednesday, the Hurricanes weren't optimistic Cole would play because of a left knee injury.

Cole was struck by Penguins forward Matt Cooke's right knee as both players skated across the slot late in the third period of Pittsburgh's 3-2 victory in Game 1 on Monday.

Ruutu, injured during a hit by Pittsburgh defenceman Mark Eaton in the first period, hopes to return for Game 3 on Saturday.
