Hurricanes look to keep rolling, face Senators
Carolina (31-25-5) at Ottawa (22-27-9), 7:30 p.m. EST
OTTAWA (Ticker) -- The Carolina Hurricanes will try to match a
season high with their fourth straight win when they visit the
struggling Ottawa Senators on Tuesday.
Carolina has won its last three games by a combined score of
15-5, which includes Sunday's 5-2 triumph over Colorado.
Matt Cullen recorded his first career hat trick and Chad LaRose
and Ray Whitney each had two assists in the win. The Hurricanes
outshot the Avalanche, 39-19.
Opening an eight-game homestand, Ottawa is going in the opposite
direction after enjoying a winning streak of its own.
All-Star Dany Heatley netted a pair of goals as the Senators
dropped their third straight decision, a 5-3 setback to the
Montreal Canadiens on Saturday. The losing skid comes on the
heels of a season-high five-game winning streak.
Carolina also won four straight games from December 31-January
6.
The teams split the first two meetings earlier this season.
