Dallas Stars captain

Jamie Benn scored three goals and added an assist in the last game of the season to win the Art Ross Trophy as the league's top scorer on Saturday. Benn's incredible performance in the 4-1 win over Nashville moved him out ahead of

Sidney Crosby and

John Tavares to win the league's scoring race with 87 points. What's even more amazing is that Benn scored all four points without linemate

Tyler Seguin to dish him pucks. Seguin was scratched from the game because he was late for practice on Friday.

Benn's first goal of the game was a smooth passing play with

Cody Eakin. Benn entered the Nashville zone with Eakin on his left, then dished it off to Eakin and found a pocket of open ice between the hash marks. The Predators' defence followed Eakin into the corner and he slid the puck back out to Benn, who buried it behind

Carter Hutton. The second goal came off the faceoff in the Nashville zone. Benn won the draw back to defenceman

John Klingberg, then went to the net and deflected Klingberg's point shot in out of mid-air. Benn completed the hat trick late in the third, with the Stars up 2-1 and Nashville's goalie out in an attempt to even the score. Benn got hold of the puck in his own end and quickly threw it down the ice. It looked like he hardly aimed the puck, but it still managed to find the net. Watch the video and listen to the glorious "Benn... Benn... Benn!" play-by-play call on goal No. 3.

Benn's teammates did most of the work to get him his Art Ross-clinching assist. Benn stopped a

Viktor Stalberg clearing attempt in the Nashville end and sent the puck in for

Trevor Daley, who cut in deep and fed Cody Eakin in front. Eakin fired the puck home and the arena erupted in celebration for Benn, knowing he'd just clinched sole possession of the scoring title. It's been a career year for Benn, who set new highs in goals (35), assists (52) and points (87). He had 34 goals and 79 points last year.

Tavares scored a goal against Columbus to finish second in scoring with 28 goals and 86 points. Crosby finished in third spot after failing to register a point in the Penguins' 2-0 win over Buffalo. He closed out the season with 28 goals and 84 points.
