Jeff Hoggan scores two goals as Boston defeats New York Islanders 3-1

Though there was nothing at stake, the two clubs approached the bruising game as though it were late in the season.

Tension boiled over on the ice several times. Fans at Mile One Stadium were even treated to a few fights, one of which saw Bruins big man Zdeno Chara taken down by Kip Brennan.

The Bruins dominated the game almost from the drop of the puck.

Chuck Kobasew added a goal for Boston.

Defenceman Chris Campoli replied with the lone goal for the Islanders.
