They may have only existed for a year, but the old Central League’s Cincinnati Tigers left behind a solid sartorial legacy.
The jersey featured a clean, simple design with no shoulder art and some pretty good gold and blue sleeves. The gem, of course, is a tiger mascot that bests anyone east of Medicine Hat.
An affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Tigers were led by future NHL coach Doug Carpenter and sniper Bruce Boudreau, now the Caps’ bench boss.
