Jesperi Kotkaniemi Signs 8-Year Extension With Hurricanes

Jesperi Kotkaniemi has signed an eight-year extension worth $4.82 million per season. 

Kotkaniemi, a third-overall pick by Montreal in 2018, was acquired by the Hurricanes in September after the Canadiens failed to match Carolina's $6.1-million offer sheet. 

Kotkaniemi has 11 goals and 23 points in 59 games, with the potential to beat his careeer-high of 34 points in 2018-19 as a rookie with Montreal.
