Joe Sakic getting closer to making decision on if he'll return this season
He hasn’t set a date to come to a decision, but Joe Sakic said it’s almost time to make up his mind.
“I needed some extra time this year,” Sakic told FM Sports Radio 104.3 The Fan in Denver. “It’s been a very, very difficult decision to make. I’m hoping to have something here in the next couple of weeks, make my final decision and go forward with it.”
The Avalanche captain missed 38 games last season with a sports hernia, but recorded 40 points in 44 games.
Over his 19-year NHL career, “Burnaby Joe” has 623 goals and 1,629 points in 1,363 games. He has also won two Stanley Cups with the Avalanche and has been a member of the team since he was drafted 15th overall in the 1987 draft by the then-Quebec Nordiques.
