Johan Backlund makes 25 saves as Phantoms shut out Toronto Marlies 2-0
GLENS FALLS, N.Y. - Johan Backlund stopped all 25 shots he faced Wednesday as the Adironack Phantoms shut out the Toronto Marlies 2-0 in American Hockey League action.
Jon Matsumoto got Adirondack on the board at 2:28 of the first on the power play.
The Phantoms (8-6-1) doubled their lead at 15:54 of the second, thanks to Matt Clackson.
Joey MacDonald made 19 saves in defeat for the Marlies (6-6-3).
Toronto finished 0-for-9 with the man advantage, while Adirondack was 1-for-5.
