Jokinen, Coyotes seek third straight win

Detroit (19-5-4) at Phoenix (14-13-2), 9:00 p.m. EST

GLENDALE, Arizona (Ticker) -- Olli Jokinen has the Phoenix

Coyotes finally rolling.

Jokinen and the rejuvenated Coyotes look to extend their winning

streak to three games when they host the Detroit Red Wings on

Saturday.

Jokinen has three goals in two games since returning from

injury. In eight games before getting hurt, he had not scored.

Acquired via trade from the Florida Panthers in the offseason,

the 30-year-old Jokinen hurt his shoulder during a 3-2 win over

the the Columbus Blue Jackets on November 26 after being checked

into the boards. The injury snapped his consecutive games

streak at 397.

He scored twice in the Coyotes' 5-3 win over Dallas on Wednesday

and added his 10th tally of the season in their 3-1 victory over

Minnesota one night later.

Ilya Bryzgalov also thrived against the Wild on Thursday,

yielding one or fewer goals for the first time since November 8,

a 4-1 win over Florida. He had given up 14 goals in his

previous three contests.

Detroit had its four-game winning streak snapped in a 3-1 loss

to the Dallas Stars on Friday. The Red Wings failed to notch

their third five-game run this season, and have surrendered 3.29

goals per game in the last seven contests.

They have the best road record in the NHL (10-3-2).
