Brandon Halverson, goaltender for the OHL’s Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, provided us with the perfect example of the "laughing to stop yourself from crying" method of dealing with misfortune. During Thursday night’s game, with Halverson's Greyhounds visiting Barrie, the Colts were on the power play when the puck was dumped into the Sault Ste. Marie zone. Halverson, a 2014 second-round pick of the New York Rangers, went behind his net and took control of the puck as a hard-charging
Brendan Lemieux came flying towards him. Halverson’s next move will be one he tells his children about someday.

Lemieux, the son of Claude and a second-round pick of the Buffalo Sabres in 2014, didn’t get credit for the goal, but he’s certainly the one who made it all happen. When the dust had settled, the goal was credited to Barrie defenseman Ben Harpur in what was his fifth game with the Colts since being acquired from the Guelph Storm. At least Halverson was able to laugh it off, taking to Twitter following the game to make light of the situation. It’s probably much easier to laugh at yourself when your team hangs on for the 4-3 victory.
