Justin Abdelkader's OT heroics lead Griffins over Marlies 3-2

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Justin Abdelkader scored twice, including the overtime winner as the Grand Rapids Griffins won 3-2 over the Toronto Marlies in AHL action Wednesday.

Both Abdelkader's goals came on the power play, opening the scoring at 3:35 of the first and finished it in overtime for his 14th of the year. Francis Pare had the other goal for Grand Rapids.

Mark Bell and Bates Battaglia both scored their 11th of the year for Toronto.

Justin Pogge made 27 saves for the Marlies, who move to 21-16-2-5.

Jimmy Howard stopped 24 shots for Griffins (15-21-1-5).
