Keane scores game winner in Manitoba's 3-2 triumph over Lake Erie

CLEVELAND - Veteran forward Mike Keane scored the game winner 6:55 into the third period as the Manitoba Moose beat the Lake Erie Monsters 3-2 in AHL action Friday.

Keane, a two-time Stanley Cup champion, put the Moose (5-2-0) ahead 3-1 with his third goal of the season. Eric Walsky led Manitoba with a goal and an assist, while Marty Murray also scored in the win, the Moose's second in a row.

Brian Willsie had both goals for the Monsters (1-4-0), who have lost four straight since winning their season opener. Lake Erie has just eight goals in its first five games.

Cory Schneider stopped 26 shots to earn the victory for Manitoba.

Tyler Weiman made 29 saves in defeat for the Monsters.
