Ken Danby mask sells for $15,150 in support of spinal injury research
Calgary's Stephan Mravinac paid $15,150 for the mask during the Source For Sports One-Of-A-Kind Mask Auction last week. The event was in support of Shoot For A Cure, an organization that seeks to raise money for spinal cord research, raise awareness of spinal cord injuries in hockey and promote prevention of hockey-related spinal cord injuries
Danby decorated the mask himself, reproducing his famous painting of a goalie getting ready to make a save.
Patrick Roy's autographed Hockey Hall of Fame induction mask went for $2,900 as the auction raised $21,700 in total.
