Khubodin's 26-save performance propels Houston to 1-0 win over Hamilton
HAMILTON, Ont. - Anton Khubodin turned aside 26 shots for his fourth shutout of the season as the Houston Aeros blanked the Hamilton Bulldogs 1-0 in American Hockey League action Wednesday.
Khubodin, a seventh-round pick of the Minnesota Wild in 2004, continued his hot start to the season. The 23-year-old tops all goalies in shutouts, and is ranked second in goals-against average (1.49). Three of his shutouts have come in his last six games.
Khubodin's performance came one night after the Bulldogs ran into a similarly hot goaltender in Alexander Salak, who made 28 saves in Rochester's 5-2 win over Hamilton.
The Bulldogs (11-6-4) have lost four of their last six games.
Jean-Michel Daoust broke the scoreless deadlock on a power play 1:09 into the third period to pace the Aeros (11-10-1).
Cedrick Desjardins made 24 saves in defeat for Hamilton.
