Kings eyeing first home win of the month

Phoenix (26-28-5) at Los Angeles (25-23-9), 4:00 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- If the Los Angeles Kings want to treat

their fans to a win this month, they better act fast.

The Kings will look to snap a three-game home losing streak

Saturday when they host the Phoenix Coyotes.

Los Angeles, which is 0-1-2 at the Staples Center since January

29, will embark on a five-game road trip after this contest.

Despite their struggles at home during February, the Kings have

still posted a 5-2-2 record this month.

Alexander Frolov and Michal Handzus tallied during Thursday's

4-2 loss to the San Jose Sharks.

The Coyotes, who are coached by former Kings superstar Wayne

Gretzky, are coming off a 4-3 shootout victory over the Atlanta

Thrashers on Thursday. Daniel Carcillo scored the decisive goal

in the eighth round of the bonus format.

Joakim Lindstrom, rookie Viktor Tikhanov and Steven Goertzen all

tallied in regulation for Phoenix, which snapped a three-game

losing streak.
