Kings look to snap home woes against Oilers

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Kings were unable to

carry the momentum of a successful road trip home with them in

their last contest.

A recent power outage has plagued the Kings at Staples Center of

late, a problem they hope to solve when the Edmonton Oilers

visit on Saturday.

Following a 4-1-0 road trip, Los Angeles returned home Thursday,

only to be shut out for the eighth time this season - sixth at

home - in a 2-0 loss to Calgary.

Rookie Jonathan Quick continued his stellar play since being

called up from Manchester (AHL), allowing one goal on 19 shots

to snap his personal four-game winning streak.

Los Angeles, which is 3-6-2 in its last 11 home games while

boasting an 8-2-1 mark in its last 11 road contests, is

currently four points out of eighth place in the crowded Western


Edmonton finds itself one point behind Columbus and Minnesota,

which are tied with 59 points, after a 7-2 beatdown of Montreal

on Wednesday.

After averaging two goals a game in their previous seven games,

seven different players scored as the Oilers tallied three times

on the power play to match their season-high for man--advantage

goals in a game.

Shawn Horcoff returned to action after missing a pair of games

with a lower body injury, registering a pair of assists.
