We knew Jack Eichel was good. We also know that the NHL is the best league in the world, so even an 18-year-old phenom might have needed time to adjust to the pace and strength of facing the world's elite.

Or not.

Check out the power and strength that the Buffalo Sabres rookie uses in netting this superb goal against Columbus yesterday:

Keep in mind, that's Boone Jenner, the 6-foot-2, 215-pound farm boy that Eichel outmuscled for the puck as it squirted toward the blueline. And in net? None other than 2013 Vezina winner Sergei Bobrovsky. So this wasn't exactly soft competition.

The Sabres won the game 4-2, with Eichel's goal ending up as the game-winner. The rookie, who turns 19 in a couple of weeks, now has two goals in his first three NHL games, while averaging 19:38 of ice time. It was also Buffalo's first win in three attempts this season.
