Kolnik scores three times to lead Davos past Karolvy Vary 5-3 at Spengler Cup

DAVOS, Switzerland - Juraj Kolnik scored three times to lead HC Davos past Energie Karlovy Vary 5-3 at the Spengler Cup on Sunday.

Marc Weisner and Paolo Duca had the other goals for Davos (2-0), the Swiss squad that opened the tournament Sunday with a 3-2 victory over Dynamo Minsk.

Vaclav Skuhravy, Jaroslav Kristek and Petr Kumstat replied for Czech side Karlovy Vary (0-2), which lost its opener 7-6 in a shootout to Canada on Saturday.

Canada was off Sunday but returns to tournament action Monday when it faces HC Davos.

In the other game Sunday, Evgeny Kovryshin's goal at the nine-minute mark of the third period earned Russian side Dynamo Minsk a 2-1 win over German squad Adler Mannheim.

Sergei Varlamov had the other goal for Minsk (1-1).

Ronny Arendt replied for Mannheim (0-1).
