Andy Strickland Of The Cam & Strick Podcast Names John Tortorella As A Possible GM Candidate For The Columbus Blue Jackets

Andy Strickland of the Cam & Strick podcast said recently on his podcast that he's heard that former CBJ head coach John Tortorella could very well be a candidate for the vacant General Manager job for the Columbus Blue Jackets.

After "dropping the bomb," co-host and former NHL-er Cam Janssen says, "I'd hire him."

The two go on to talk about John Tortorella's history and debate whether or not he would be a good GM. They also talk about his history in Columbus and how he is generally loved by the team and city.

You can listen to the chat below. It starts at 44:08 of the clip.

Recently, former GM Doug MacLean said in an interview that he heard John Tortorella tried to move into the front office in his last season instead of coaching, but now former GM Jarmo Kekalainen nixed that idea and refused to allow it.

Would he take this kind of job if offered, and would he do a good job? John Davidson has said they want a culture shift, and this would be just the way to do it.

John Tortorella helped turn the franchise around in 2015 and led them to the playoffs for four straight seasons, including beating Tampa Bay in 2019, and Toronto in 2020.
