Former Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Adam Boqvist has been signed by the Florida Panthers today. This comes just over a week after Columbus bought out the young blueliner. Columbus bought out the final two years of his deal and will owe him $1,066,667.
The Florida deal is a one-year, one-way contract.
Boqvist played parts of three seasons with Columbus, never playing over 52 games in a season, mostly due to injury. He totaled 56 points in a CBJ uniform.
Boqvist is often thought of as having unlimited potential, will get his shot on the Stanley Cup-winning Panthers. He joins his brother Jesper, who also signed with Florida for one year on July 1st.
