The Vegas Golden Knights play-by-play announcer Dave Goucher will stay with the team despite interest from the Boston Bruins.
Goucher went on the Mercedes in the Morning show on Mix 94.1 FM to announce that he would stay with the Golden Knights.
Goucher has been with the Golden Knights since their first-ever season in the 2017-18 season which saw them make a run to the Stanley Cup finals. Before joining the Golden Knights, he was with NESN and the Bruins from 2000 to 2017 on the radio.
Chad Finn of the Boston Globe was the first to report that the Bruins were interested in Goucher.
"NESN and the Bruins have reached out to Dave Goucher, who is very familiar to Bruins fans. He called their games on the radio from 2000-17 before he was hired as the TV play-by-play voice for the expansion Vegas Golden Knights, where he calls games with former Bruins defenseman Shane Hnidy. His ecstatic “Bergeron! Bergeron! Bergeron!” call of Patrice Bergeron’s overtime goal to cap a comeback against the Maple Leafs in the first round of the 2013 playoffs is among the most iconic in modern Boston sports history."
Goucher is originally from Boston but has decided to stay with the Golden Knights.
