Kings maintaining physical play against the Oilers

Unfortunately, the Los Angeles Kings have been pushed to the brink of elimination against the Edmonton Oilers. After losing last night in Game Four, they are now down 3-1 in the series.

The Kings played much better in Game Four but still lost 1-0. However, the game was a hard-fought battle and as physical as it gets.

LA has maintained a very physical brand of hockey against the Oilers, which is essential when playing them. Sadly, they just haven't gotten the goals needed to beat Edmonton.

If they were able to get the goals, they might have been able to take a series lead against the high-flying Oilers, but that isn't the case so far in the series.

Most people would be counting the Kings out, and rightfully so; they are down 3-1, and it looks like it could be over. But with this physical play, they take a piece of every Oilers player every time they hit them.

They could force themselves back if they can keep this up and take it game by game into this series. All they need is the depth to step up and get a timely goal or two. As well as their top stars dominating their shifts and, of course, timely goaltending. They could win Game Five and force a Game Six.

Eventually, this physical play will catch up to the Oilers, and they will lose a step. If the Kings can hang around for another game, they may get their chance to take over the series.
