The New York Rangers are entering eerie similar territory as the 1994 Rangers that won the Stanley Cup.
In 1994, the Rangers were down 3-2 to the New Jersey Devils in the Eastern Conference Final, on the brink of elimination.
Superstar forward Mark Messier proclaimed that “We’ll Win Tonight” and that’s exactly what happened.

Messier ultimately scored a natural hat trick in that game to propel the Rangers to a 4-2 victory en route to the Stanley Cup.
Now 30 years later, the Rangers are down 3-2 in their Eastern Conference Final series to the Florida Panthers with a chance to repeat history.
Their backs are against the wall and all the momentum seems to be in Florida’s favor, but the Rangers are a resilient group and are embracing this challenge.
“I mean, yeah, we’re obviously all extremely excited for tonight,” Ryan Lindgren said. “It’s a huge game for us. We’re going to do everything we can to bring this back to MSG for Game 7. Everyone’s fired up and dialed in for tonight.”
If you watch the Rangers, it’s easy to notice that there is a feeling of destiny with this year’s team. Something is just unique and special about this specific group.
In 1994, the city of New York rallied around Messier and the Rangers as they broke a 54-year Stanley Cup drought.
They must do the same again tonight because despite the odds not necessarily being stacked in their favor, this series is far from over and the Rangers still have an opportunity to accomplish something truly special.
We will see tonight what the Rangers are truly made of.
