Ten thoughts while savoring the memory of Chris Kreider's finest hour.

    1. I don't like the Bruins going back to the 1950's when I was vice president of The Rangers Fan Club. Yes, there were specific incidents that turned me off the B's.

    2. For starters, the Bruins always knocked us out of the playoffs. They wound up fourth and sneaked in and we had to settle for another fifth place season.

    3. In one of those close runs to the Finish Line, the Bruins not-so-nice Milt Schmidt chopped our center ice ace Edgar Laprade out of the race and they got in – again!

    4. I don't know Bruins coach Jim Montgomery but The Maven is a pal of Florida's Paul Maurice. I always root for my buddies. Sorry, Jim! It's personal.

    5. With all the deserved backpacks for Chris Kreider, I have to tell you that the play of Alex Wennberg and Kaapo Kakko did not make me feel like hugging them. Not a bit!

    6. Granted that The Maven is not a doctor but I have a feeling that Adam Fox and Jake Trouba have been playing hurt.

    7. How bad was Fred Andersen's goalkeeping in the finale? My buddy Larry Hirsch, who studies netminders, says "He gave up four softies in the last game."

    8. A couple of days ago, Kreider missed a practice and Peter Laviolette thought that Chris might even miss Game Six. "Instead," Pistol Pete now crows, "he carried us on his back."

    9. Yes, the Rangers are "The Team Of Destiny." More than ever, the Canes remain "Team Close But No Cigar." (Looks like Rod Brind'Amour might go bye-bye.)

    10. Those who booed the Blueshirts in Game Five at The Garden, please stand up. (Ahhh, never mind! I'm only kidding, but you folks weren't, were you?)
