The Laval Rocket have signed forward Israel Mianscum to a two-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.
The deal will see his contract be two-way in 2024-25 and one-way in 2025-26.
Mianscum, a product of Mistissini, Que., spent this past season playing for the Sherbrooke Phoenix (QMJHL) where he scored 35 goals and added 52 assists for 87 points in 61 regular season games.
Having played five seasons in the QMJHL, all with the Phoenix, Mianscum had 215 points in 264 regular season games.
As Mianscum makes the jump to the professional level next year, he could see some time in the ECHL with the Trois-Rivières Lions. While that is not to say that he can't stick in the AHL, a lot of players who sign AHL contracts see time in the ECHL during the first year of their deals.
A skilled player who can make quick decisions under pressure, Mianscum will be an interesting player to follow along with next season.
