Lawyer updates NHLPA's executive board on process regarding Saskin

The executive board, made up of the 30 player reps and the interim, six-member executive committee, met by conference call for the third time in a month, and were told by Paliare that he had started interviewing NHLPA staff about the allegations against Saskin, the union's suspended executive director.

Saskin was sent home on a paid leave of absence, along with senior director Ken Kim, last month due to allegations they read NHLPA players' e-mails.

Two weeks ago, the player reps voted to retain Paliare as outside counsel to address the employment issues surrounding Saskin and Kim.

An internal review in the hiring of Saskin, conducted by Toronto lawyer Sheila Block, is also ongoing.
