Leafs' farm team gives Perrrott and Pszenyczny tryouts and gets Tellqvist

Perrott, the scrappy forward who was released by the Dallas Stars during their NHL training camp, has signed a tryout contract with the Marlies.

Perrott was with the parent Leafs when he was traded to the Stars for a fifth-round draft choice last November. The 29-year-old right-winger from Owen Sound, Ont., had two goals, one assist and 54 penalty minutes with Dallas.

Tellqvist, who was idle as the Leafs' No. 3 goaltender for their first six games, joins the Marlies on a conditioning stint. The 27-year-old Swede was 10-11-2 in 25 games with the Leafs last season. He got the majority of his starts in the AHL during his previous four seasons when the farm team was in St. John's.

Pszenyczny, 21, an American defenceman, signed an amateur tryout contract. He spent more than four OHL seasons with Sarnia, Mississauga, where Marlies coach Greg Gilbert was his coach, and Barrie amassing 133 points (51 goals, 82 assists) and 555 penalty minutes.
