Legace stops 19 shots to lead Blues to 1-0 win over Predators

It was Nashville's first game since acquiring centre Peter Forsberg from Philadelphia in a trade Thursday night. The former MVP did not play against the Blues and plans to make his debut Saturday when against the Minnesota Wild.

Guerin notched his team-leading 27th goal with 53 seconds left in the second and both teams skating with four players. He collected a pass from Doug Weight as they entered the Nashville zone and worked around a defender before firing the puck past goalie Chris Mason and just inside the top corner.

Legace's strong play and some bad luck for Nashville helped give St. Louis its first victory over the Predators since the end of the 2003-04 season. The Blues lost all eight meetings last year and the first six this season, all but the final loss coming by one goal.
