Liles has close call with butt-end of stick to the eye

John-Michael Liles took a butt-end of a stick under his right eye in a game against the Los Angeles Kings Saturday.

Kings forward Dustin Brown’s stick caught Liles underneath his visor and clipped the defenseman just beneath his eye.

"I couldn't see anything. It was all black," Liles said to the Denver Post. "It was pretty tough for a few minutes."

The injury ended up being a minor one. Liles’ vision returned to normal shortly after the game finished and he is expected to resume playing this week.
