Longer suspensions for hits from behind

I am getting sick of these checks from behind.

True, some of them are incidental and are inevitable when the play is moving fast, but what will it take to stop players like Downie, Laraque, Simon and others from deliberately hitting someone from behind?

A longer suspension, that's what.

A two or three game suspension is like telling a shoplifter that it's okay, just don't do it again. It is not okay. Players are getting permanent injuries from these concussions and the spinal injuries are not fun either.

Colin Campbell needs to suspend these players at least 15 games for each hit from behind.

The NHL has to send a message to their players that they will not tolerate this dirty play.
