LW Vanek returns to lineup for Game 6 as Sabres try to stay alive in series.

BOSTON - Buffalo Sabres left wing Thomas Vanek is back in the lineup after missing the past three playoff games with a sore left ankle.

Buffalo's leading scorer had a goal in Game 1 and an assist before getting hurt in the first period of Game 2.

He sustained the injury when he crashed awkwardly into the end boards after being chopped down from behind by Bruins defenceman Johnny Boychuk.

He had 28 goals and 25 assists in the regular season.

Boston leads the best-of-seven series 3-2.
