Make 100-points an accomplishment again

Of all the gimmicks introduced after the lockout, by far the most bothersome is the point awarded to a losing team.

The solution? Winners earn two points for a regulation win or one point for an overtime/shootout win, while the loser gets zero.

Emphasizing an intense 60-minute game would result in no more playing for a tie.

Imagine a game late in the season where a team needing two points to secure a playoff spot is tied in the late stages of a game. Whoa baby!

This is just a thought, but shouldn't the NHL start listening to its fans?
