TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs' goalie situation just got a little less crowded.
James Reimer was sent back to the team's AHL affiliate on Friday after an impressive two weeks with the Maple Leafs.
Reimer (4-2-0) registered a solid 2.26 goal-against average and .933 save percentage in seven appearances with Toronto. He made his first career NHL start with a 32-save victory Jan. 1 in Ottawa, and picked up three straight road win during the Toronto's four-game winning streak.
But with veteran starter J.S. Giguere returning from groin injury and Jonas Gustavsson healthy, the Maple Leafs couldn't carry three goaltenders.
