Maple Leafs sign German forward Marcel Mueller to two-year contract

TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs signed forward Marcel Mueller to a two-year entry-level contract Wednesday.

The 22-year-old scored 24 goals and added 32 assists in 53 games last season with the Cologne Sharks of the German Elite League.

He has 43 goals and 61 assists in 198 career games in Germany.

The six-foot-three, 200-pound winger has also appeared at the international level with Germany, contributing two assists in four games at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
