Mark Bell to make his Leafs debut Tuesday; Wellwood also likely to return

TORONTO - Toronto forward Mark Bell will be in the lineup when the Maple Leafs visit the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday and teammate Kyle Wellwood will likely join him.

Neither Bell or Wellwood has played a game this season. Bell has been serving a 15-game suspension stemming from a drinking and driving incident in San Jose last year. That ban ended Saturday.

"I've definitely been thinking about it a lot lately, I anticipate little butterflies," Bell said after practice Monday. "Just more excitement than anything."

Wellwood has been sidelined after having surgery for a sports hernia. He'll make his season debut against Ottawa as long as he feels fine Tuesday.

"Everything's been going great and I haven't had any setbacks," said Wellwood. "I definitely want to play."

Wellwood will play eight to 12 minutes, mostly on the power play. He and Bell are expected to skate on the same line.

"If Kyle is in, we'll probably put Mark on the wing and if Kyle's not in, we'll probably move Mark to the centre," said head coach Paul Maurice. "But we'll move those guys around quite a bit, see how those guys are doing early in the game and welcome to them back."
