Marlies score twice on power play, another shorthanded to beat Crunch 6-3

TORONTO - Boyd Devereaux scored twice as the Toronto Marlies registered two power-play goals and another while shorthanded en route to a 6-3 win over the Syracuse Crunch in AHL action Wednesday afternoon.

The game attracted 7,851 spectators at Ricoh Coliseum on School Kids Day.

Jiri Tlusty, Joe Ryan, Brent Aubin and Tim Stapleton had the other goals for Toronto (25-19-2-5), which moved four points ahead of fifth-place Syracuse in the North Division.

Craig MacDonald, Derek MacKenzie and Grant Clitsome replied for the Crunch (24-22-3-2).

Marlies goaltender Justin Pogge stopped 16 shots to improve his record to 18-14-4 this season.
