Martin Gerber makes 37 saves as Barons defeat Moose 4-0
WINNIPEG - Martin Gerber made 37 saves as the Oklahoma City Barons blanked the Manitoba Moose 4-0 in American Hockey League action Saturday.
Linus Omark had a goal and two assists for the Barons (14-8-3), while Matt Marquardt, Ryan O'Marra and Alexandre Giroux also scored.
Eddie Lack made 30 saves for the Moose (12-8-3).
Marquardt opened the scoring at 8:06 of the first period, firing the puck from the point past Lack, who was screened.
The Barons went up 2-0 at 17:38 into the second when O'Marra fired the puck just past Lack's outstretched leg.
Omark scored at 13:58 of the third period as he moved the puck past a Manitoba defender in the neutral zone, skated in alone on Lack and flipped the puck over the Moose netminder.
Giroux capped the scoring on a at 16:51 of the third on a power play as he took the puck from behind the Moose net and wrapped it around and past Lack.
Manitoba went 0-for-7 on the power play.
